A Horizontal Pump System Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of horizontal pump systems (HPS) used in industrial, water treatment, oil & gas, and other process environments.
This role requires both mechanical and electrical skills to ensure pumps operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards.
Ensure job deliverables are accurate and delivered on time.
Responsible for service delivery execution including installation of horizontal pumps, troubleshooting and perform service inspection.
Perform system testing, test pumps for proper flow, pressure and efficiency.
Participate in job risk analysis and continual improvement programs.
Develop customer contacts to promote company products and services.
Ensure company and regulatory standard compliance by implementing the CAT, self‑assessments, and well‑site inspections.
Participate in Service Quality Meetings with customers and improve performance using action plans.
Participate in HSE and Quality initiatives.
Wear PPE and observe HSE policies.
Maintain the required safety training.
Minimum Qualifications- Technical certification or high school diploma/GED
- 2 years’ experience in field service work
- 2-year experience with AC/DC motors, SCADA controls and communications systems and/or electrical work.
- Must have a valid Drivers License
- Can perform moderately complex pulls and installs independently
- Strong customer relations skills including the ability to explain and train
- Knowledge of wiring and cabling
- Knowledge of proper use of hand tools
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability
- Ability to follow prescribed company policies, procedures, and protocols for installation, service and equipment maintenance
Work a minimum of 8 hours per day, and available to work overtime as required to meet business needs. Works both in the shop and on‑site at customer locations. May be required to drive for long periods of time Operates in industrial or process environments, often outdoors or in confined spaces. Requires ability to work under pressure, including emergency on‑call situations Role is deemed safety‑sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing.
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Climbing:
Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. - Balancing:
Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. - Stooping:
