Overview
The Electrical Engineer - New Product Development is primarily responsible for the research, design, development and testing of electrical systems and components by performing the following responsibilities. Reports directly to the Electrical Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities- Perform engineering tasks that include applying basic engineering theories and principles
- Support full product development lifecycle, from requirements definition and architecture through prototyping, validation, and manufacturing launch
- Design and develop electronic circuits including schematic capture, block diagrams, and PCB layout
- Conduct and support electrical, functional, and thermal verification/simulation including debugging and design iteration
- Support design & technical reviews with customers (remote and/or on-site)
- Create and organize design documentation including DFMEA development, DVP, PCBA drawings, BOM creation and management, rapid quote BOM generation
- Collaborate with other engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams within our organization and at our joint venture partners
- Engage in continuous improvement opportunities as required.
- Maintain compliance of IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 / ISO 14001
- Follows all safety, housekeeping (5S) and company policies and procedures.
- Coordinates and maintains all job responsibilities in a continuous and flexible manner and performs other related duties and job assignments as required.

Education and/or ExperienceMinimum of Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience. Strong background in embedded systems and automotive electronics. Schematic capture and PCB layout experience required. Experience testing and validating PCBAs required. General knowledge of power, digital, and analog circuits. Proficiency with EE tools such as oscilloscopes and power supplies. Low level embedded code development experience is a plus.
Experience with Mathcad or Pspice is a plus. Experience with Aspice V model or Autosar is a plus. Experience with Altium is a plus. Experience with Team Center or Polarion is a plus. 5+ years’ experience required.
