Project /Product Engineer – Automotive – Shelby Township, MI
A multinational company with a facility in the Shelby Township, MI area is currently seeking several automotive Project Engineers / Product Engineers for Direct Hire opportunities with their growing team. Local candidates are preferred, but relocation assistance is available for well-qualified candidates.
Project Engineer rates are anticipated to be based on each candidate’s experience and education. All well-qualified candidates will be considered regardless of pay rate. We offer excellent benefits including medical, dental, 401k, and tuition reimbursement.
Qualified Project Engineers will have most, if not all, of the following skills and experience:
- 2–5+ years of recent experience in automotive engineering or related field
- Project management experience within automotive or manufacturing industries is highly preferred
- Experience with automotive component design and development
- Proficiency in CAD software (Solid Works, CATIA, AutoCAD)
- Knowledge of automotive design and manufacturing processes (die casting, injection molding, stamping, etc.)
- Familiarity with project management software (MS Project, Primavera) and engineering change management systems
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Knowledge of automotive industry standards and quality regulations (IATF 16949, ISO 9001)
- Ability to travel occasionally for project needs (typically short-term trips within the U.S.)
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related discipline is a benefit but not essential; equivalent experience will be strongly considered
- Must be able to work in the United States (no H-1B or student visas)
- Must be able to complete standard pre-hire checks, including background, drug screen, and references
