Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Design Engineer with a focus on Medium Voltage (MV) systems. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting MV switch gear design, including single-line diagrams, schematics, wiring layouts, and BOM preparation. Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D is required.
This position works closely with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams to support integrated electrical designs, provide production support, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain medium voltage electrical designs, including single-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring layouts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper electrical integration within equipment assemblies.
- Prepare and release Bills of Materials (BOMs), drawings, and engineering documentation for production and procurement.
- Provide hands-on support during assembly and troubleshooting of electrical systems and wiring issues.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards, customer requirements, and manufacturing capabilities.
- Support continuous improvement and product development initiatives.
- Maintain documentation accuracy, revision control, and organized design files.
- Communicate effectively across departments to support project execution and timelines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
- Experience designing medium voltage switch gear or related MV electrical systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D.
- Strong understanding of single-line diagrams, schematics, and electrical wiring design.
- Familiarity with MV equipment such as breakers, busbars, and protective devices.
- Knowledge of applicable industry standards and electrical design practices.
- Experience preparing BOMs and engineering documentation.
- Strong communication, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
