Schedule

3rd shift position;
Monday through Friday 11:00 pm to 7:00 am with occasional weekends when needed

About the role of the Hi‑lo Driver

The Hi‑lo Driver supports MNP’s distribution divisions by moving, tracking, and staging steel and work‑in‑process in accordance with production schedules. This role is a key member of the distribution team and must be able to work well with others yet work without constant supervision. Successful hi‑lo drivers are detail‑oriented and work in a proactive mode—anticipating the needs of the team they support.

Responsibilities

of the Hi‑lo Driver
  • Communicate with the team including production control
  • Locate and move steel coils to the appropriate operation
  • Locate and move manufactured parts to next operation
  • Stage tubs for manufacturing ensuring empty tubs are available as needed
  • Assist other hi‑lo drivers with expedited orders as needed
  • Scan tags and enter information into computer as required
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas; clean up spilled parts
  • Report missing paperwork or documents
  • Work in a safe manner; follow all safety protocols
  • Other duties as needed
Additional skills and/or experience required for success in the role of the Hi‑lo Driver
  • 1 year of experience driving a hi‑lo, previous hi‑lo certification required
  • Prefer 1 year of hi‑lo experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Possesses basic computer skills
  • Possesses basic mathematical skills
  • Able to read job instructions and keep detailed records
  • Able to work without constant supervision
  • Able to work well with others
  • Able to think ahead and plan material moves to maximize efficiency
