Position Overview

Michigan Surgical is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) team in a full‑time role focused on Infection Control and Quality. The RN will support the development, implementation, and oversight of infection prevention and quality improvement programs within the ASC, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to promote patient safety, regulatory compliance, and best practices.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 40–42 hours per week. Start time: 6:00 AM – 7:00 AM. End time: 4:30 PM – 5:00 PM. 8.5‑hour workdays.

Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in an outpatient or ambulatory surgery center setting.
  • Strong background in Infection Control and Quality initiatives.
  • Team‑oriented with strong leadership skills.
  • Highly detail‑oriented, organized, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced surgical environment.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement evidence‑based interventions to reduce and eliminate the risk for Healthcare‑Associated Infections (HAIs) and disease transmission.
  • Plan and conduct the ASC’s Infection Control/Prevention Program, addressing risks for acquisition and transmission of infectious agents, setting priorities, goals, and strategies, including auditing and data collection.
  • Complete infection‑control needs assessments, develop and deliver educational sessions on infection prevention, emerging infectious diseases, new initiatives, and regulatory affairs.
  • Assist with quality assurance and process‑improvement initiatives.
  • Provide and monitor staff in‑services on new equipment and procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge in Infection Control, Quality, and risk assessment, and provide assistance as needed.
  • Adhere to high standards of ethical conduct, comply with all applicable laws and regulations, maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, and complete annual compliance training.
Certifications, Licences, or Registry Requirements
  • RN license and certification as required by state.
  • Continued education or webinars on infection control and quality annually.
Education Requirements
  • Associate’s degree in nursing required; graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • BSRN preferred.
Experience Requirements
  • 3+ years as an ambulatory surgical RN.
Required Travel
  • Travel between surgical centers (if applicable) 20–30%.
