Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to adult patients in an Oncology, Hematology, or related medical unit. Perform comprehensive patient assessments and deliver evidence-based treatments aligned with unit protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct patient care to adults with cancer, hematology, or related diagnoses, ensuring optimal clinical outcomes.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and specialized treatments including chemo, NG tubes, and chest tubes.
- Monitor patient status, respond to physiological changes, and document findings accurately in the EMR.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and families on disease management, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain compliance with safety standards, including proper use of specialty equipment and adherence to protocols.
- Hold an active NY RN license and all required licenses, with verification through NURSYS report.
- Possess a minimum of 2 years of recent experience in medical-surgical or oncology nursing.
- Demonstrate proficiency with EMR systems, preferably EPIC.
- Maintain current AHA BLS, NIHSS, and chemo certification.
- Possess a valid driver's license with address matching demographic information.
- Exhibit strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to float between units as needed.
