Registered Nurse – CVOR

Cardiovascular Operating Room Nurse

The Registered Nurse provides specialized cardiovascular operative care in a surgical setting, supporting patient recovery and optimal outcomes. This role requires expertise in cardiac procedures and perioperative nursing practices.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor patients before, during, and after cardiovascular surgeries.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and adherence to protocols.
• Administer medications and manage life-support equipment as required.
• Document patient data and surgical procedures accurately in the medical record.
• Educate patients and families about post-operative care and recovery processes.
• Maintain sterile environments and assist in maintaining surgical equipment and supplies.

Qualifications:

• Hold current New York State licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program with at least an associate’s degree.
• Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in a cardiovascular or surgical nursing setting.
• Be certified in ACLS and BLS.
• Demonstrate competency in using EPIC, Omnicell, and other relevant healthcare technology.
• Able to work flexible shifts, including on-call and variable hours.
