ICU Nurse, RN Nurse, Travel Nurse
Registered Nurse - IMCU/PCU
This is a 13-week contract position.
Day shift from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Block scheduling is not guaranteed, and floating may be required.
The IMCU unit is seeking a Registered Nurse with experience in Intermediate Care Units or Progressive Care Units. The successful candidate will care for patients with various conditions including neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory issues. Common diagnoses include COPD, DKA, sepsis, myocardial infarction, and post-operative care. The unit consists of 64 beds, including 15 designated neuro beds.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the IMCU.
- Utilize specialty equipment such as temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, arterial lines, and Bipap machines.
- Assist with the care of patients on chronic vents, working with respiratory therapy as needed.
- Conduct assessments and develop patient care plans.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in IMCU/PCU or similar settings.
- Active certification in AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
- Experience with EPIC EMR system.
- Drivers' license with matching address.
