Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Utica, New York

Contract | Midshift (10:30 AM – 11:00 PM) | Onsite | Travel

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department serving newborn, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
• Manage and monitor patients presenting with conditions including stroke, sepsis, trauma, MI, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure
• Administer and titrate required drips and medications including pressors, vasodilators, anti-arrhythmics, and sedation agents
• Operate specialty equipment including Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun as needed
• Float to other units as required and provide charge nurse coverage when needed
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic medical records system

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the state of New York
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience, including some pediatric experience
• Prior travel nursing experience is required
• Current AHA certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS required
• NIHSS and TNCC certifications required
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR required
• Completed skills checklist matching Emergency Room specialty

• Charge nurse experience or demonstrated charge capability in an emergency department setting
• Experience managing a high-acuity, multi-bay ED environment including trauma, psychiatric, and critical care observation patients
• Familiarity with specialty medications including TNK, Heparin, and Insulin drip protocols

• Opportunity to work in a large, full-service Emergency Department with diverse patient populations and high-acuity cases across a 64-bed unit
• Gain experience with a broad range of critical care equipment, drip protocols, and specialty patient populations in a dynamic travel assignment
