Position Summary:

The Eligibility Reviewer will be responsible for conducting detailed reviews of applications and supporting documents to confirm completeness, eligibility, and compliance, while verifying financial and agricultural information, performing program-related calculations, and coordinating with applicants, internal teams, and external agencies.

Essential Job Functions:

The following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions:

  • Review applications and supporting materials to determine completeness and eligibility.
  • Evaluate submitted documentation for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with program requirements.
  • Validate and verify financial and agricultural information, including tax documentation and agricultural loss records.
  • Conduct outreach and follow-up communications with applicants to obtain missing information or clarify submissions.
  • Perform calculations based on program guidelines and established methodologies to support payment scenarios.
  • Support the intake and review process for both electronic and paper-based applications, as needed.
  • Coordinate with state USDA Farm Service Agency offices and other applicable agencies to help prevent duplicate payments for eligible losses.
  • Collaborate with state government agencies and other internal and external stakeholders, as needed, to support program implementation and to facilitate resource access
  • Maintain accurate and confidential case files and documentation in accordance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with disaster response and recovery strategies, as applicable.
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience in case management reviewing applications, eligibility determinations, case files, claims, or similarly detailed records.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret and apply program guidelines consistently.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to conduct follow-up outreach professionally.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple reviews and deadlines at once.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business, agriculture, finance, social services, or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience with state or federal assistance programs, disaster recovery programs, or agricultural support programs.
  • Familiarity with FSA processes, agricultural loss documentation, or related review procedures.
  • Experience supporting program implementation in a public sector or consulting environment.
  • Experience working with financial documents, tax records, agricultural records, or other sensitive documentation.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and using a computer.

Compensation:
