What You Will Be DoingProvide a continuum of interventions and supervision of accused and adjudicated juvenile offenders on your dynamic caseload. Through evidence‑based practices, motivate and guide youth, broker services, and steer youth toward accountability for their actions, community restoration, and development of competencies to lead productive and crime‑free adult lives. Represent the Division of Juvenile Justice in court proceedings. The services you provide will be challenging but produce significant long‑term benefits to youth served, their families, and the community.

The working environment is located in the Juvenile Probation Office, which shares a building with the Alaska Court System, District Attorney’s Office and other State of Alaska agencies. Living and working in a small community will give you close‑knit interactions with both the community and our partnering agencies and will enable you to see the direct impact of your work. This is a flexibly staffed position at the JPO 1 or 2 level, a full‑time position of 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
The position requires the ability to assume on‑call duties on a rotating basis, after hours on evenings and on weekends. Supervision of probationers also requires travel to outlying communities.
