Warehouseman

Summary or Purpose

All Borough employees in positions subject to federal testing requirements must comply with pre‑employment, random, post‑accident, reasonable suspicion, return‑to‑duty, and follow‑up testing. This role performs industrial or heavy warehousing functions including receiving, inventory control, supply documentation, data entry, material distribution, and delivery.

• Coordinate and perform activities related to issuing, transporting, and storing warehouse inventory and materials.
• Monitor, maintain, and order warehouse inventory to support inventory control.
• Compile and maintain accurate distribution records and logs.
• Maintain accurate records of material in relation to job or work order numbers for billing purposes.
• Perform office duties: telephone and radio communications, conduct surplus sales, and data entry into Micros/Midrange systems.
• Operate loader and/or forklift; may lift heavy objects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skill in keypunch and computer inventory programs.

• High school graduate or G.E.D., or a combination of 12 years of education and related work experience.
• Valid Alaska Commercial Driver’s License with Haz‑mat endorsement meeting North Slope Borough insurance criteria.
• 49 CFR Hazardous Material Transportation Training Certificate.
• One year of work experience in a warehouse.
• Demonstrated ability to lift 70 lbs regularly.
