We’re looking for a Vice President Operations & General Manager to support our business in the Netherlands, related to product development and manufacturing of medical devices and biological products. This is a key position within our Management Team in Bilthoven.

Kuros Biosciences is a Swiss-listed life science company specializing in orthobiologics for spinal fusion surgery. With locations in Switzerland, the USA, and the Netherlands, we manufacture our bone repair products in Bilthoven and sell them worldwide. We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Officer to join our growing Quality Assurance team in Bilthoven.

Position Overview

The Vice President, Operations and General Manager is responsible for leading the Bilthoven based operations, supply chain, process engineering, and site based leadership functions for the company's global portfolio of innovative spine and orthopedic products, including medical devices, biologics, combination products, and pipeline technologies. This leader will develop and execute strategies that support Bilthoven based requirements of product development, global registrations and licenses, lifecycle management, and commercial growth while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Vice President will serve as the subject matter expert and strategic business partner for all things operations and site based governance related, collaborating closely with Quality Assurance, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Research & Development, Operations, Medical Affairs, Marketing, and Executive Leadership. This individual will represent the company before Netherland authorities, specifically during site based activities and functions, and play a key role in advancing innovative therapies to improve patient outcomes.

Approximately 20–30% domestic and international travel as required.

Responsibilities Operational Leadership
  • Focuses on building teams and processes that optimize long‑term vision, competitive market positioning, and overarching company performance goals
  • Builds processes that aligns teams on short‑term execution, internal stability, and daily processes to optimize costs, efficiency, and overall results.
  • Oversee daily site operations, production, supply chain, and customer service delivery.
  • Manage all site housing and facilities‑related matters, including lease negotiations, site selection, landlord/vendor management, permits and contract execution for new buildings, premises, and locations.
  • Collaborates closely with all members of the leadership team, including the U.S. based colleagues on global standards of performance, development, and goals.
Financial Management
  • Develops tracking metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to meet goals.
  • Own annual budgeting, financial forecasting, and variance analysis relevant to operations within the site and overall site facility maintenance.
Process Optimization
  • Implement the continuous practice of improving workflows, cutting waste, and maximizing resource efficiency through frameworks like Lean and real‑time data tracking to boost efficiency.
People Management
  • Lead, coach, and develop local management teams and staff; foster an engaged corporate culture.
Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure strict adherence to Dutch working conditions (Arbo standards), health, safety, and environmental laws.
Stakeholder Relations
  • Act as the primary local representative for clients, external partners, and corporate headquarters.
Leadership
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high‑performing Operations and Supply Chain team.
  • Establish department goals, metrics, and operating procedures.
  • Manage external consultants and contract resources.
  • Develop departmental budgets and resource plans.
  • Foster a collaborative, solutions‑oriented culture across the organization.
Qualifications and Skills Education
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or Engineering.
  • Master's degree or PhD preferred.
