Assist with installation, inspection, and basic maintenance of mechanical systems including fixtures, mounts, test rigs, track hardware, and support equipment
Support mechanical assembly and disassembly of components related to vehicle and tire testing activities
Perform basic troubleshooting of mechanical issues such as fastener failures, alignment concerns, wear, and vibration
Use hand tools and basic power tools to perform mechanical tasks safely and accurately
Testing & Engineering SupportAssist engineers during setup and teardown of mechanical test equipment and test vehicles
Support alignment, torque checks, fluid checks, and basic adjustments required for testing activities
Assist with routine inspections of test tracks, mechanical fixtures, and support equipment to identify defects or wear
Support data collection activities by ensuring mechanical systems are properly installed and functioning
Preventive Maintenance & SafetyPerform basic preventive maintenance tasks on mechanical equipment as assigned
Follow all site safety rules, lockout/tagout procedures, and job safety analyses (JSA)
Identify and report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or abnormal operation to supervisors
QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent
Basic understanding of mechanical systems, fasteners, torque principles, and mechanical assemblies
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring devices (calipers, torque wrenches, tape measures)
Ability to follow mechanical drawings, work instructions, and engineering guidance
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, or equivalent)

Additional Ways To Stand OutAssociate degree or technical certificate in Mechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Automotive Technology, or related field preferred
Hands-on mechanical experience (internship, vocational training, or entry-level industrial experience acceptable)
