Uvalde Memorial Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Payor Credentialing Assistant to join our Patient Accounting team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring our hospital, outpatient clinics, and providers remain credentialed and enrolled with commercial insurance carriers, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payors. By maintaining timely credentialing and payer enrollment, you'll help prevent reimbursement delays, support regulatory compliance, and ensure uninterrupted patient access to care.

Coordinate provider and facility credentialing, re-credentialing, and payer enrollment activities.
Prepare, submit, and monitor credentialing applications with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance plans, and other payors.
Maintain accurate provider documentation, including licenses, certifications, education, malpractice insurance, and other required records.
Monitor credentialing deadlines to ensure timely renewals and uninterrupted provider participation with insurance networks.
Serve as the primary point of contact between providers, clinics, insurance carriers, and regulatory agencies regarding credentialing matters.
Maintain accurate databases, generate reports, and track application status using credentialing software.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, payer, and regulatory requirements while supporting revenue cycle operations.
Collaborate with hospital leadership and providers to resolve credentialing issues and maintain efficient reimbursement processes.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
Holds a Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field (required).Has experience in a hospital, healthcare billing, administrative, provider enrollment, or credentialing environment (preferred).Possesses strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
Demonstrates excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Is highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with experience using credentialing software preferred.
Can effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Is willing to obtain Certified Provider Enrollment Specialist (CPES) certification within 18 months of hire;
Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) certification is preferred.
