At Uvalde Memorial Hospital, every patient deserves compassionate, personalized care throughout their cancer journey. We are seeking a skilled and caring PRN Oncology Infusion Nurse (RN) to join our Oncology team and provide specialized infusion services when our patients need you most.
As a PRN Oncology Infusion Nurse, you'll deliver life‑saving treatments while building meaningful connections with patients and families. Your expertise, compassion, and flexibility will help ensure our community continues to receive exceptional oncology care.
In This Role, You Will:- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, hydration, and other infusion therapies safely and accurately.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after treatment, responding promptly to infusion reactions or complications.
- Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports and central lines, and manage vascular access devices.
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, side effects, and home care.
- Provide compassionate emotional support throughout each patient's treatment journey.
- Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate individualized care.
- Maintain accurate documentation while following oncology, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Help create a safe, welcoming environment where patients feel supported every step of the way.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- BSN preferred.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Provider Card and Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Administration certification required within six months of hire.
- Minimum of two years of nursing experience required; oncology or infusion nursing experience preferred.
- Strong IV therapy and vascular access skills.
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, and patient education abilities.
