Kennel Technician

• Sanitizes/disinfects pet enclosures and general boarding areas.
• Makes sure that each pet receives the correct type and quantity of food for each meal.
• Ensures pets have clean water at all times.
• Responsibly administer medications to animals per owner's directives.
• Visually checks pet guests for safety and well-being throughout the day.
• Cleaning of facilities (indoor and outdoor) will be required throughout the day.
• Performs add-on services as needed such as nail trimming and bathing (will be trained by ownership)
• Monitors pet belongings; cleans belongings as needed; assures the return of pet belongings to owners. Carries pet belongings to the storage area, front desk or to assist customers, as needed.
• Maintains and cleans food preparation areas.
• Performs daily laundering of pet bedding and towels.
• Reports items in low supply to manager.
• Follows procedures for the safe handling of all pets.
• Reports needed repairs to manager.
• Answer questions about the facilities, operations and give owners reports about their dogs as needed.
• Attends and completes all required training sessions as needed/assigned.
• Treats customers, guests and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner; greets all customers encountered while performing work duties.
• Perform duties to close out register at the end of the day; counting/handling money in a trustworthy manner, and reporting any issues to manager.
• Assists other associates as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management/ownership.

• Must love dogs.
• Animal care/kennel experience preferred but not required. (Management will train a willing candidate.)
• Ability to recognize dog behaviors is a plus.
• Acts and presents themselves in a professional manner at all times.
• Prior customer service experience is a plus.
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.

• Lifting 40+ pounds frequently
• Standing and walking the majority of the day.
• Must be able to handle dogs on leashes.
• Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander, excretions and waste.
