CDL Class B Driver – Uvalde, TX

We are excited to announce an opportunity at Orica for a CDL Class B Driver within our Orica USA Commercial team.

This role will be responsible for driving and operating Orica's bulk trucks (Mobile Manufacturing Units) and installing blasting products for our customers at local construction sites, mines, and quarries. It also carries accountability for upkeep and maintenance of the equipment.

• Monday through Friday
• Local driving (2–3 hours)
• Early morning starts at approximately 4 AM – 5 AM
• Work approximately 10–12 hours per day
• Overtime may be needed
• Up to 10% of overnight travel may be required

• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of vehicles, checking and refilling fluid levels.
• Hook up and unhook trailers safely.
• Operate emulsion tanker trucks and box trucks as part of daily responsibilities.
• Handle, store, and use raw materials and hazardous goods in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Minimize environmental impact through waste reduction and control practices.
• Immediately report any unusual incidents or accidents.
• Participate in daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings.

• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Lift up to 60 pounds and carry 50 pounds or more of product or materials.
• Load product, pull large hoses, fill drilled holes, climb on and off trucks.
• Frequent shoveling of gravel to fill drilled holes throughout the day.
• Regular pushing and pulling while working with equipment.
• Frequent bending, squatting, and general mobility throughout the workday.

• Valid Class B CDL required (Class A is a plus).
• Tanker endorsement preferred.
• Hazmat endorsement preferred.
• Willingness to obtain endorsements – support provided.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year of experience in driving and/or material handling (preferred).
• Solid understanding of DOT regulations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and basic math skills to manage daily inventory tasks.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects, daily responsibilities, and urgent situations.

Compensation Range:

• Hourly Pay: $25.00 – $28.00
• Signing Bonus: $4,500
