Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Colne Grange School, Uxbridge UB8 2YG
Hours: 37.5 per week | Monday to Friday, 08:30am–16:30pm
Salary: £24,675.00 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: June 2026

The Teaching Assistant plays a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality education and care for all students, particularly those with autistic spectrum disorder. Working under the direction of the class teacher or tutor, the Teaching Assistant helps create a safe, structured and engaging learning environment that enables students to access the curriculum, develop independence and make meaningful progress both academically and personally.
Responsibilities- Support High-Quality Teaching and Learning by assisting the teacher/tutor in delivering lessons and implementing education policies and procedures.
- Provide Individual and Group Support to enable students to access the curriculum and develop independence.
- Promote Students’ Holistic Development in line with company policies, supporting their physical, educational and moral growth.
- Contribute to Planning and Documentation including Behaviour Support Profiles, Risk Assessments, Individual Education Plans and other student records.
- Support Positive Behaviour and Emotional Regulation to help students move from external control towards self-management.
- Ensure Safeguarding, Safety and Wellbeing at all times, including during off-site activities and personal care routines where appropriate.
- Work Collaboratively as Part of a Multi-Professional Team maintaining effective communication with teaching, care and other departmental staff to ensure consistency between school and home.
- Manage Resources and Maintain Records ensuring equipment is used effectively and all records meet company and regulatory standards.
- Experience working with pupils with autistic spectrum disorders and/or presenting with challenging behaviour.
- Previous experience within an educational setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to work towards relevant qualifications as required.
