Job Description
Uxbridge High School has an opening for a para educator/applied behavior analyst technician. This position will be housed at the Independence Program, which serves the needs of students ages 18‑22 who are transitioning from the general high school environment. The role involves providing support to the instructional program, supervising, caring for, and instructing students with special needs in the general education setting or a self‑contained classroom.
The technician will assist in implementing instruction plans, monitoring and redirecting student behavior, and providing information to appropriate school personnel. Experience with nonverbal, autistic, or intellectually disabled students is preferred but not required. The role requires training in the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.
- Assist in supervising, caring for, and instructing students with special needs in general and self‑contained classroom settings.
- Help implement instructional plans.
- Monitor and redirect student behavior.
- Provide information to school personnel.
- Support life skill development and skill acquisition.
- Training in the principles of ABA.
- High school diploma required; experience working with students with disabilities.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
Position Type: Full‑time
Salary: $26,209 to $41,624 Per Year
