Production Planner - Direct Hire
A global manufacturer of electrical and mechanical drives, motion control, and automation technology, is seeking a proactive, detail-driven Production Planner to join its team in Uxbridge, MA. In this pivotal role, you'll coordinate and optimize production workflows to balance safety stock, forecasting, and customer orders — driving on-time delivery, production efficiency, and inventory accuracy.
Pay Rate of the Production Planner:$85,000 – $90,000 annually. Compensation depends on skills, knowledge, education, and experience.
Schedule of the Production Planner:Onsite, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
Responsibilities of the Production Planner:- Manage and adjust production schedules across multiple product lines to meet demand, material availability, and labor capacity.
- Review daily output, identify bottlenecks, and evaluate inventory levels to keep operations running efficiently.
- Monitor on-time delivery performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with Order Management and Manufacturing teams to align production goals and resolve scheduling conflicts.
- Notify internal teams of updated shipping schedules and any changes to lead times.
- Participate in daily and monthly production meetings, addressing material shortages, equipment downtime, and resource constraints.
- Investigate missed shipments, identify root causes, and work with teams to prevent future delays.
- Analyze planning parameters to balance delivery timelines, production efficiency, and inventory levels.
- Lead order-related communications and activities for customer accounts.
- Oversee the implementation of Engineering Change Notices and recommend lead time adjustments based on scheduling constraints.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen internal customer relationships and improve service levels.
- Participate in cross-training to support other Supply Chain roles, complete reporting tasks, and perform other duties as assigned.
- 2+ years of Supply Chain or Production Planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Extensive working knowledge of MRP (Materials Requirement Planning) systems required; SAP preferred.
- Working knowledge of Bill-of-Material and production routings (preferred).
- Intermediate MS Office experience required; advanced experience preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to draw conclusions from data.
- Highly proactive, organized work habits and a strong sense of urgency.
- A collaborative spirit across teams and departments, plus the ability to work independently.
