The City of Vacaville invites applications for the position of Senior Building Inspector. We currently have one vacancy within our Community and Economic Development Department.
Salary and Benefits InformationSalary: $100,929 - $122,680 annually
A 2% COLA is scheduled for 11/1/2026
- Medical Insurance at affordable rates - City covers up to 85% of Kaiser premium, other plans are also available
- Vision and Dental Insurance monthly premiums covered 100% by the City
- Healthcare double coverage opt‑out incentive of $3,000 per year for eligible employee

- Up to 97.5 hours per year of Administrative Leave

Job Duties- Perform detailed inspections of residential, commercial and industrial construction projects to ensure code compliance.
- Review construction plans and specifications for adherence to building regulations and safety standards.
- Provide guidance and supervision to junior inspectors, ensuring consistency in inspections and interpretations of building codes.
- Respond to inquiries from contractors, developers and the public regarding building code requirements and inspection processes.
