You will serve as teacher, advisor, instructional designer, progress monitor, problem solver, and trusted partner to students and families. You will have the autonomy to respond to individual needs while being surrounded by a collaborative team that believes excellent teaching is both deeply human and highly skilled.

Rather than teaching to the middle of a crowded room, you will work closely with individual students and small groups, using assessment, observation, conversation, and student work to determine what each learner needs next.

You can actually personalize learning.

You will help develop learning goals and instructional plans that respond to student strengths, needs, interests, progress, and California standards.

Families are genuine partners.

Parents and guardians play an important role in their students’ education. You will coach, communicate, problem-solve, celebrate growth, and provide families with tools and resources to support learning.

We want teachers who can build trust, communicate clearly, notice when something is not working, and help students discover that they are capable of more than they may have believed.

This role requires initiative and excellent professional judgment, but you are not working alone. Our teachers collaborate with colleagues, specialists, school leaders, families, and community partners.

As a Personalized Learning Teacher, you will:

• Build meaningful, supportive relationships with students and families.
• Design learning experiences within an Independent Study/Homeschool model.
• Provide engaging individual and small-group instruction.
• Use assessments, student work, performance data, and professional judgment to identify strengths, needs, and next steps.
• Develop and implement individualized learning goals aligned with California standards and approved curriculum.
• Monitor student growth and adjust instruction when students need intervention, additional challenge, or a different approach.
