Role Description The Electrical Project Engineer will lead and support electrical engineering projects for manufacturing and facility systems at Lonza’s Vacaville, CA site. This on‑site contract role includes designing, reviewing, and optimizing electrical infrastructure for process equipment, utilities, and building systems, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and industry standards. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include developing technical specifications and drawings, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external vendors, and managing project timelines, budgets, and documentation.

The Electrical Project Engineer will participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis, support commissioning and qualification activities, and implement improvements to increase reliability and efficiency. The role also involves collaborating with cross‑functional teams in engineering, operations, maintenance, and EHS to align project outcomes with site and corporate objectives.

• Demonstrated proficiency in electrical design and engineering for industrial or manufacturing facilities, including power distribution, controls, and instrumentation.
• Experience managing engineering projects, with skills in planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating contractors and vendors.
• Knowledge of relevant electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA), safety regulations, and GMP or other regulated environments.
• Ability to perform technical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions for electrical systems.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and presenting technical information clearly.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline; advanced degree or professional licensure (e.g., PE) is an advantage.
• Prior experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or process industries is highly beneficial.
• Proficiency with engineering software and tools (e.g., CAD, electrical modeling, project management applications).
• Ability to work on‑site in Vacaville, CA and support occasional off‑hours activities during critical project phases.
