Police Officer Salary: $122,236 -$175,178/year*
* Minimum includes 5.38% holiday pay and a $1,800 uniform allowance. Maximum includes uniform allowance, holiday pay, BA degree pay, Senior Officer III pay and bilingual pay.

The City of Vacaville is recruiting motivated, professional Police Officers committed to public safety, crime prevention and service to a diverse community. This position is responsible for maintaining the peace and enforcing federal, state and municipal laws.

EducationSuccessful completion of the Police Academy is required. An A.A./A.S. degree is desirable. Military service and relevant training may also be considered.
ExperienceSuccessful completion of probation as a sworn law enforcement officer in the State of California.
License or CertificatePossession of, or eligibility for, the California POST Basic Certificate is required.
Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license and a satisfactory driving record are conditions of initial and continued employment.
OtherPolice Officer candidates must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age at the time of appointment; must be legally authorized to work in the United States under federal law; must be able to successfully complete a thorough background investigation and successfully meet the job dimension criteria as recommended by POST.
Spanish bilingual skills are highly desirable.
Incumbents must successfully complete the Vacaville Police Department Field Training Program as a condition of continued employment.
