Summary

We are seeking a Buyer / Material Planner II for a 12-month onsite assignment in Vacaville, CA. This role is ideal for a supply chain professional with experience in procurement, supplier management, and material planning within a manufacturing environment. The position focuses primarily on buyer and procurement activities rather than production scheduling, with responsibilities including supplier relationship management, purchase order execution, inventory monitoring, supply chain analytics, and cross-functional collaboration.

Candidates should have strong ERP experience, advanced Excel skills, and hands-on experience with Power BI for reporting and dashboard development. Experience in regulated manufacturing or biotech environments is highly preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Convert MRP/MPS requirements into purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Manage procurement activities to ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external suppliers and vendors.
  • Expedite purchase orders and resolve supplier delivery issues.
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure on-time material delivery.
  • Analyze supply chain data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards and supply chain reports.
  • Track supplier performance, inventory levels, and key supply chain metrics.
  • Monitor inventory to identify shortages, excess stock, and supply risks.
  • Implement corrective actions to minimize supply chain disruptions.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to ensure material readiness.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities by ensuring timely material availability.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve procurement and supply chain processes.
  • Learn and leverage new software tools to improve operational efficiency.
Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proven hands-on experience using ERP systems;
    Oracle or Net Suite experience is highly preferred over SAP.
  • Experience as a Buyer, Material Planner, Procurement Specialist, or Supply Chain Analyst.
  • Strong procurement and supplier management experience.
  • Experience creating purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Hands-on ERP experience;
    Oracle or Net Suite preferred (SAP experience is acceptable but Oracle/Net Suite is highly preferred).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong Power BI experience, including dashboard creation and data visualization.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Experience monitoring inventory levels and managing supply risks.
  • Knowledge of MRP/MPS planning processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and vendor relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments required.
  • Experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, FDA-regulated, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Experience with Fabriq or similar supply chain collaboration platforms is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools.
