Summary
This role is responsible for maintaining manufacturing equipment in good running condition. Performs a variety of mechanical and electrical duties on any equipment; responds to all calls promptly. Solves machine‑related problems with the least amount of downtime to achieve Key Performance Indicator targets of less than 5% equipment downtime and more than 68% OEE.
Responsibilities- Accountability # 1 – Production/Maintenance – (60%)
- Perform, execute, and complete preventative and predictive maintenance according to an established schedule.
- Demonstrate ability to complete tasks assigned and provide positive inputs to set priorities and make sound decisions while working on tasks in a timely manner.
- Use computer maintenance management system (CMMS) to create work orders and maintain record keeping.
- Report all parts used in CMMS and needed for reordering to support spare part inventory tracking.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, processing, and packaging equipment to optimize throughput and produce quality products.
- Respond to production calls for corrective, preventative, and emergency maintenance.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives.
- Assist with wastewater treatment plant and facility maintenance as needed.
- Read and interpret maintenance/repair manuals, basic schematics; understand and troubleshoot PLC logic.
- Work various shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as production/workflow changes require.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- Accountability # 2 – Safety – (25%)
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
- Report all unsafe conditions and matters of concern to manager and/or supervisor.
- Promote a food safety culture by ensuring GMP’s are adhered to in all operations and food safety measures are complied with daily.
- Enforce food safety and sanitation regulations in compliance with FSMA to maintain product safety and quality.
- Accountability # 3 – Communication – (10%)
- Promptly inform manager and/or supervisor of known, anticipated problems and developments, and actions being taken to improve the situation.
- Communicate effectively with mechanics on other shifts and with verbal and written communications to receive and relay specific machine conditions or other information related to the department.
- Be on call as needed.
- Communicate effectively with department personnel, supervisory peers, and upper management.
- Accountability # 4 – Personal Growth – (5%)
- Perform other work as may be assigned by management.
- Be self‑motivated with desire to cross‑train through all maintenance areas.
- Develop and learn new skills.
- Promptly inform manager and/or supervisor of known, anticipated problems and developments.
- Maintain punctuality and regular attendance.
- Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear.
- Frequently sit; occasionally stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to work at heights of 30 feet or more.
- Must be able to work all shifts and weekends; up to six‑day workweeks on occasions.
- Occasionally bend, crawl, lift, and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds.

- Two years or more related experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Forklift experience – must be able to be certified.
- Excellent mechanical knowledge and skills.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting and industrial electricity knowledge: 110V, 220V, and 480V three‑phase, including low DC voltages up to 180
VDC. - Fabrication and welding skills, including stainless and aluminum.
- Basic computer knowledge and skills.
- Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- PLC troubleshooting experience strongly preferred.
