Salary Range: $26.89 - $39.22 per hour; $56,146 - $81,891 annually
Work Shift: Day Shift 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday
Telework Details: Position requires at least 50% onsite at 3200 Labore Rd, Ste 104, Vadnais Heights, Minnesota. Telework is available on a limited basis. Candidates residing in Minnesota or neighboring states within 50 miles are eligible for up to 50% telework; those more than 50 miles away may be eligible for more than 50% telework.
Primary Responsibilities- Provide leadwork direction and technical guidance to Accounts Payable staff, ensuring vendor payments are processed accurately, timely, and in accordance with State and DCT policies.
- Process and reconcile complex Accounts Payable transactions within the Statewide Integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT) system, ensuring compliance with Prompt Payment requirements and fiscal policies.
- Research and resolve complex payment issues including disputed invoices, purchasing violations, insufficient funding, duplicate payments, contract retainage, and vendor discrepancies.
- Coordinate fiscal year‑end payment processing to ensure expenditures are recorded in the proper fiscal year and comply with accounting requirements.
- Provide technical assistance and training to DCT staff regarding payment processing, vendor management, and Accounts Payable procedures.
- Partner with management to identify process improvements, implement best practices, and maintain compliance with State accounting standards.
One (1) year of Accounts Payable experience OR Three (3) years of Administrative Support experience in Accounts Payable that demonstrate the following:
- Processing high‑volume Accounts Payable transactions.
- Interpreting and applying accounting principles and fiscal policies.
- Reconciling accounts and researching discrepancies.
- Working with financial management systems (SWIFT, People Soft, Oracle, SAP, or similar ERP systems).
- Developing or improving accounting procedures and internal controls.
- Building, maintaining, and troubleshooting Excel spreadsheets including using formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis.
Note:
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related degree may substitute for 1 year of administrative support experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or closely related field.
- State of Minnesota accounting experience.
- Experience using SWIFT (People Soft Financials).
- Experience processing high‑volume Accounts Payable transactions.
- Experience with governmental accounting principles.
- Experience interpreting MMB payment policies and procurement requirements.
- Experience leading or coordinating the work of others.
- Experience developing accounting procedures and internal controls.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Experience working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Reference checks, background checks, education verification, and TB screening will be required prior to appointment.
