The Operating Room nurse will be scrub and circulate for all orthopedic cases at the Surgery Center. The surgical scrub (RN Surgical Scrub) functions as an integral part of the surgical team. The RN Surgical Scrub possesses expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combines the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, equipment, tools, and technologies to facilitate a physician’s performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.

Join our team as a Casual Operating Room Registered Nurse, supporting our five Surgery Centers located in Woodbury, Eagan, Vadnais Heights, Plymouth, and Minnetonka. In this role, you will have a designated home base and will float to other locations as needed, providing exceptional patient care and teamwork across our network.
This is a flexible, casual role—you’ll have the opportunity to pick up shifts based on your availability and department needs, with no set or guaranteed schedule.
The OR RN will:
- Collect, interpret, record and communicate pertinent data that are relevant to providing and promoting a safe surgical patient outcome. Data are concurrently assessed for optimum patient care and planned discharge of the ambulatory surgical patient.
- Follow established guidelines for providing administration of safe nursing care.
- Organize equipment and monitoring devices needed to perform assessment.
- Utilize available resources in planning care; utilize external resource staff as needed (physician’s assistants, MRI/radiology, anesthesia, surgeon preferences).
- Revise plan of care as needed to accommodate patient’s specific needs.
- Communicate plan of care to other staff of the center as needed.
- Provide direct care to patients, meeting their physiological and psychological needs.
- Continuously evaluate the patient’s response to nursing and surgical interventions and modify plan of care to accommodate change to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Summit's hiring range for this position is $40.77 to $54.33 per hour. The hired candidate may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses, differentials and/or deferred compensation.
