Store Director Responsibilities
- Work with all departments to ensure and maintain appropriate functioning of entire store operations.
- Prepare weekly sales/labor projections, execute to plan, and consistently achieve budgeted payroll percentage.
- Oversee department managers to ensure they are held accountable for the conditions of their department; monitor hiring practices, scheduling techniques, and labor costs.
- Hire, develop, evaluate, and supervise Department Managers and staff.
- Account for Department Managers’ weekly schedules to keep labor cost at or below the budgeted payroll percentage for the store.
- Manage store financials and demonstrate full comprehension of the Profit & Loss (P&L) Statement.
- Analyze company financial statements and use them in daily operations.
- Maintain store sanitation and cleanliness in accordance with local laws and best practices.
- Maintain a safe work environment for employees, vendors and customers.
- Monitor cash management for the store, including approving all store expenses before they occur.
- Initiate weekly communications with the support department directors to exchange business information such as vendor and product issues.
- Ensure all store expenses have received appropriate approval before entry.
- Ensure monthly inventory counts, all deadlines are achieved, and the store is "inventory ready".
- Monitor and address customer issues, personnel situations, rewards and recognition, and policy violations.
- Coordinate all store events, including executing weekly sales flyers, merchandising plans, monthly inventories and all marketing promotions.
- Oversee merchandising, loss prevention, and store appearance/conditions for the location.
- Anticipate highs and lows in the business and react accordingly to solve problems and/or adjust allocated labor.
- Sustain a high level of product knowledge and product preparation.
- Walk department regularly to ensure an organized, sanitary, and overall clean appearance at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of professional experience.
- Preferred 5–7 years grocery retail experience in overall store operations and merchandising.
- Previous experience in a natural foods industry is a plus.
- Maintain the highest level of customer service at all times.
- Adapt to the ever-changing high volume retail environment while working in a cross‑functional team.
- Take initiative when problems arise and use independent judgment to take corrective actions.
- Flexibility to adapt in a variety of situations.
- Advanced attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to multitask and keep excellent organizational skills.
- Lead, support and contribute to team goals.
- Work varied hours/days as business dictates.
- Familiar with Health Department guidelines and regulations pertaining to a grocery retail environment.
- Plan and execute effective teamwork and provide management that motivates staff and sets clear expectations.
- Analyze and create action plans for financial statements.
The Store Director will manage day‑to‑day store operations, maintain a safe and inviting environment for customers, collaborate with the cross‑functional retail team to meet financial and operational goals, collaborate with suppliers and vendors, and coordinate store events and marketing plans.

Pay Range: $74,750.00 – $ per year.
