Role DescriptionThe Stagehand and Technician role at Altitude AV LLC is a part-time, on-site position based in Vail, AZ. This role supports the setup, operation, and breakdown of audiovisual and staging equipment for live events, including loading and unloading gear, assembling stages, running cables, and positioning lighting and sound equipment. The Stagehand and Technician assists lead technicians during events by monitoring equipment, responding to technical needs, and ensuring the event space remains safe and organized.
Responsibilities also include basic equipment checks, routine maintenance tasks under supervision, and following all safety and handling procedures. This role requires working flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on event schedules.
- Candidates should possess basic stagehand and live event support skills, including safe lifting, equipment handling, and familiarity with event setups.
- Candidates should possess foundational technical abilities with audio, lighting, or video equipment, or a strong interest in learning AV systems.
- Candidates should possess strong organizational and problem-solving skills to manage tasks in dynamic, time-sensitive event environments.
- Candidates should possess effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with production staff, clients, and other crew members.
- Candidates should possess a commitment to safety, reliability, and punctuality, with the ability to follow instructions and company procedures.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include prior experience in live events or theater, a valid driver's license, reliable transportation to Vail, AZ, and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.
