Structural Engineer-In-Training (Eit)
Martin/Martin, Inc. is looking for a structural engineer-in-training (EIT) to join our structural engineering group in our Vail, Colorado office.
This engineer will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of project types with many different structural materials. This position will provide opportunities to gain experience in both new building structural design and existing building investigations and retrofits.
A typical work week can include engineering calculations, drawing development, construction administration tasks, and site visits. This position allows for interactions with owners, architects, and contractors early in your career as you build relationships throughout the project life cycle. While many of our projects are located in the Rocky Mountain region, Martin/Martin's national footprint provides opportunities to work on projects around the country.

Our structural engineering teams provide custom solutions for new constructions and expansions, with a strong record in notable projects like Coors Field, the Alice L. Walton School of Medicine, and Harbor center.
Responsibilities include knowledge and use of computer design and CAD/BIM software, preparing details and calculations for project components and systems, learning about products and construction procedures, preparing and writing reports, providing field observation during construction, studying and applying building code and/or jurisdictional requirements, reviewing shop drawings and product submittals, checking own work, coordinating work with other disciplines, acting proactively and proposing potential solutions to problems, working overtime when necessary, and other duties as assigned.
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum in architectural, civil, environmental, construction, structural, or related engineering field, passing the fundamentals of engineering (FE) examination, 0-4 years' experience, eligibility to work for any employer in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future, and ability to work in the Vail area.
Relocation reimbursement may be provided, depending on the role and job function.
Desired qualifications include a master's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum in architectural, civil, structural, or related engineering field, a GPA of 3.5 or higher, working knowledge of building and material design codes, experience using computer design and graphics software for building structural design and documentation (Auto Desk REVIT, RAM, SAP, ETABS, RISA, etc.), excellent time management and organizational skills, strong written and interpersonal communication skills with a commitment to client service and a team-based approach, construction field experience, and experience programming in Grasshopper, Python, Dynamo, SQL, C#, C++, VBA.
