Our Radiation Oncology Department has an Assignment for a Full-Time Radiation Therapist, MUST HAVE SIMULATION EXPERIENCE, PLEASE.
Willing to pay this higher rate for SIMULATION EXPERIENCE (a crucial step before treatment, where radiation therapists, under the guidance of a radiation oncologist, use imaging (like CT scans) to accurately map the treatment area, position the patient, and plan the radiation delivery, ensuring precise targeting and minimizing harm to healthy tissues.) and willingness to train current Radiation Therapist regarding Simulation.
General Objectives:
As a member of the radiation oncology team, administers ionizing radiation for the purpose of treating diseases. Demonstrates general understanding of anatomy and physiology pathology, medical terminology, oncology, radio biology, radiation physics, radiation oncology techniques, radiation safety and the psychosocial aspects of cancer toward the end.
Education:
Successful completion of a radiation therapy training program, R.T. (T) certification and maintaining certification.
Experience:
Experience in the area of Radiation Oncology for a minimum of 2 years, with STRONG Simulation experience.
Skills:
Working knowledge of radiation safety and current rules and regulations pertaining to radiation therapy Ability to interpret and deliver treatments per plans and relevant treatment protocols Experience with modern radiation therapy delivery systems, imaging systems and electronic medical records Experience with the following techniques required:
Breath Hold, SRS and SBRT, Superficial and HDR Working knowledge of Mosaiq highly preferred;
Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
