Description:
This position is responsible for caring for antepartum patients, laboring patients through childbirth, recovery, and postpartum.
The role includes lactation education and assistance, providing family-centered care including the well newborn and the Level 2 Nursery.
Expert, compassionate, individualized nursing care for patients and families is expected.
Collaboration with providers, staff, and other team members is essential to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
The nurse oversees the daily patient flow to optimize patient care, safety, and satisfaction.
Demonstrates the ability to triage incoming patient requests for services.
Delivers patient education to facilitate plans of care, informed healthcare choices, and promote optimal wellness.
Demonstrates appropriate delegation of care according to Colorado statute.
Demonstrates competent healthcare assessment skills, prioritization skills, and critical thinking skills.
Handles high telephone volumes of patient requests for medications, information, and assistance.
Administers medications, performs treatments, and assists in procedures as needed while adhering to patient safety guidelines.
Coordinates patient care with other physician practices, and other services as needed to achieve the highest possible level of patient care and satisfaction.
Demonstrates the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Delivers excellent service by utilizing Relationship-Based Care to advocate for safety, patient preferences, and optimal communication through partnering with patients and families.
Role models the principles of a Just Culture and organizational values.
Must be HIPAA compliant.
