Room Service Captain - Summer Seasonal

The Sonnenalp Hotel is looking for a Full-Time Seasonal Room Service Captain to join our Food & Beverage team. Sonnenalp is a luxury, family-owned hotel located in the heart of Vail, known for providing genuine hospitality and creating memorable experiences for our guests
Wage: $15.00 - 17.00 /hour, plus tips
Final date to receive applications: Hiring will occur on a rolling basis. Applications will be accepted until August 15th or until the positions are filled.

Primary Purpose Of Position The Room Service Captain will be responsible for leading the room service functions and ensuring guests are assisted in a friendly and timely manner. Assist with menu questions, order taking, delivery, and any follow-up required. Provide excellent service while adhering to the standards of the department, Leading Hotels of the World, and Sonnenalp Hotel.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• To answer Room Service phone
• Take guests' order
• Deliver food and beverages to guests' rooms in a timely fashion
• Clear trays from rooms and hallways promptly
• Charge minibars
• Monthly inventory
• Deliver guest amenities
• Keep the room service staging area clean and organized
• Keep room service department stocked
• Follow up with guest issues
• Write schedules and fill in tips in the spreadsheet
• Train, coach and re-train staff
• Responsible for equipment cleanliness and presentation
• Knowledge of room service menu and able to train staff on it
• Making necessary changes on the computer system
• Closing an operating day and preparing for the following morning

Education/Experience

• Must have previous room service or restaurant server experience in a luxury property
• High school diploma or equivalent

Special Skills/Equipment

• Friendly, warm and enthusiastic personality required
• Wine and Food knowledge
• Squirrel POS system knowledge helpful
• Able to lead a team by example to set team up for success

Essential

Physical Requirements

• Able to stand and walk for an extended period of time
• Able to lift 25 pounds
• Position primarily works indoors in a high volume service capacity
• During peak season, 40 hour workweeks or more may be necessary
