Job Summary:

Lead the day-to-day operations of a high-volume ski and snowboard tuning center, overseeing a team responsible for delivering consistent, high-quality service to rental and retail locations throughout the resort. This role combines people leadership, technical expertise, logistics, safety, and operational execution, including oversight of the daily transportation network that moves skis and snowboards between resort locations and the tune shop.

Job Responsibilities:

Lead the daily operation of the tune shop, ensuring customer and rental skis and snowboards are serviced according to established quality, safety, and production standards. Maintain a high standard of ski and snowboard tuning and help protect the company's reputation for quality and consistency. Recruit, hire, train, coach, schedule, and develop a high-performing tuning center and equipment delivery team. Provide hands-on leadership during high-volume periods, helping the team prioritize workload and respond to changing operational needs.

Partner effectively with third-party technicians (Wintersteiger) and employees to support equipment performance, maintenance, and shop operations. Coordinate the timely and accurate movement of skis and snowboards between resort locations and the tune shop using company-provided vehicles. Manage daily workflow and production priorities to ensure equipment is completed and returned to stores within established timelines. Maintain tune shop machinery, tools, supplies, and work areas to support safe and efficient operations.

Order and maintain appropriate inventory levels of tune shop supplies and operational materials. Adhere to and enforce all company safety procedures, equipment operating standards, and workplace policies. Role model company values, policies, and service expectations while holding the team accountable to established standards. Conduct regular performance conversations, provide coaching and feedback, and support the ongoing development of employees. Complete required company documentation, administrative responsibilities, and operational reporting accurately and on time.

Identify operational challenges and opportunities for improvement and communicate recommendations to the Area Manager. Remain current on ski and snowboard tuning techniques, equipment, products, and relevant industry trends. Build strong working relationships with store teams and operational partners to ensure the tune shop effectively supports the broader resort rental and retail operation. Demonstrate flexibility, urgency, and sound decision-making in a fast-paced environment with changing daily priorities.

Job Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of team leadership or management experience. Minimum of 1 year of ski/snowboard rental, retail, or related operations management experience. Minimum of 3 years of ski and/or snowboard tuning experience or equivalent technical background. Strong working knowledge of ski and snowboard tuning processes, equipment, machinery, and quality standards. Valid driver's license and ability to successfully complete required Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and company-provided commercial driver certification.

Ability and confidence to operate company vehicles in mountain environments, including adverse winter weather, tight alleys, loading areas, and high-pedestrian locations. Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, coach, motivate, and hold employees accountable. Strong organizational and operational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple competing demands. Ability to remain calm, adaptable, and solutions-oriented during high-volume and time-sensitive periods.

Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and peak winter periods as required by the business. High school diploma or equivalent. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
