Job Summary
Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing seeks an operating room registered nurse (RN) for a 13‑week travel assignment in Vail, Colorado. The position includes 32 hours per week with 8‑hour days.

- Prepare the operating room, ensuring instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready and functional.
- Assist in positioning and preparing patients for surgery, addressing concerns and ensuring comfort and safety.
- Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols throughout procedures.
- Provide instruments, supplies, and support to the surgical team promptly to maintain workflow.
- Monitor the patient’s condition during surgery, documenting significant changes and notifying the surgeon.
- Handle surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring proper use, sterilization, and disposal per facility protocols.
- Manage specimen collection, labeling, and transport per facility protocols.
- Document all aspects of patient care accurately and thoroughly.
- Participate in patient handoff communication during pre‑ and post‑operative phases.
- Assist in cleaning and restocking the operating room between cases, following infection control and turnover protocols.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure compliance with facility policies and standards.
- Follow hospital safety rules and procedures, including proper use of PPE and infection prevention measures.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
- One year of recent experience as an operating room RN.
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
- ACLS (AHA/ARC), PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certifications.
- OR Nursing Certification (CNOR).
- Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position.
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills.
- Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
- Interpersonal ability to work effectively with diverse personnel and maintain a positive attitude.
- Technical/motor skills to perform fine manipulation and use department equipment.
- Mental resilience to cope with frequent public contact and deadlines under pressure, working both with and without supervision.
