Registered Nurse – Operating Room

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room provides expert nursing care for surgical patients, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes. They collaborate with the surgical team to deliver high-quality, individualized patient care throughout the perioperative process.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and oversee the perioperative nursing care of patients before, during, and after surgery.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and assist during surgical procedures to maintain patient stability.
• Triage incoming patient requests, addressing concerns related to medications, procedures, or recovery.
• Educate patients and their families on preoperative instructions, post-operative care, and wellness strategies.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, HIPAA, and institutional policies, including proper medication handling and treatment procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Colorado Registered Nurse license or a compact state license.
• Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Possess Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Demonstrate strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills.
• Show the ability to handle high-volume patient inquiries professionally and efficiently.
