Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) OR Circulator is responsible for providing expert, compassionate, and individualized nursing care to patients and their families in a surgical center setting. This role involves overseeing daily patient flow to ensure safety, satisfaction, and optimal care, performing assessments, administering medications, assisting in procedures, and collaborating with providers and interdisciplinary teams. The RN must demonstrate strong prioritization and critical thinking skills, work independently with minimal supervision, and uphold high standards of patient advocacy and communication.
Responsibilities:- Oversee daily patient flow to optimize patient care, safety, and satisfaction.
- Triage incoming patient requests for services efficiently and effectively.
- Deliver patient education to facilitate care plans and promote wellness.
- Delegate care appropriately according to Colorado statute.
- Perform competent healthcare assessments, prioritize care, and apply critical thinking skills.
- Manage high telephone volume for patient requests regarding medications, information, and assistance.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and assist in surgical procedures adhering to safety guidelines.
- Coordinate patient care with physician practices, Vail Health, and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Model Relationship-Based Care principles and advocate for patient safety, preferences, and communication.
- Exemplify Just Culture principles and organizational values in daily practice.
Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Colorado or a valid compact state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience preferred.
- Strong assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple patient care demands.
Certifications:
- Experience in operating room or surgical nursing environment.
- Familiarity with Relationship-Based Care and Just Culture principles.
- Previous experience coordinating interdisciplinary patient care.
- Must comply with HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Responsible for delegating care according to Colorado nursing statutes.
- Work environment includes surgical center requiring strict adherence to safety and infection control protocols.
- Day shift schedule.
- Shift assignments determined by facility needs and patient flow.
