Peak Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling is looking for a skilled HVAC Installation Technician to join our growing Installation Department. This is a key role for our company. We need someone who has expertise in ductwork, piping, equipment installation, and low-voltage controls, along with the ability to interpret blueprints, coordinate with trades, and ensure code compliance.
This person will work closely with our install team and leadership to install, modify, and commission a wide variety of systems. We need someone who is hungry, organized, trustworthy, and excited to help maintain our high standards of quality craftsmanship from the ground up.
What You'll Do- Blueprint Reading & System Layout:
Interpret HVAC drawings, blueprints, and technical diagrams to design and lay out HVAC, ductwork, piping, and control systems. Determine routing and optimal equipment placement based on structural requirements. - Material Takeoffs & Procurement:
Generate accurate material take-offs for assigned projects and coordinate with procurement or supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of parts and equipment. - System Installation:
Install, modify, and repair HVAC, hydronic, and refrigeration systems. Fabricate and install ductwork, and install piping systems using various methods (cutting, threading, brazing, soldering, pressing, grooving, gluing, expanding). - Equipment & Component Setup:
Install furnaces, boilers, condensers, air handlers, fan coils, rooftop units, refrigerant lines, condensate drains, gas lines, venting, and humidification systems. - Controls & Low Voltage Systems:
Install and connect thermostats, sensors, relays, and zone controls. Program and troubleshoot HVAC control systems to ensure proper integration of mechanical and control components. - Testing & Commissioning:
Perform pressure testing, leak detection, system flushing, evaporation, and refrigerant charging. Test systems for proper operation using gauges, meters, and diagnostic tools to verify performance. - Communication & Coordination:
Collaborate with general contractors, engineers, inspectors, and other trades. Provide updates on project progress, issues, and changes to align with project schedules. - Code Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure all work complies with national, state, and local HVAC codes while maintaining accurate documentation of installations, materials, and test results. - Quality Control & Troubleshooting:
Inspect installations for accuracy, diagnose and resolve system issues or installation conflicts, and recommend improvements in methods and materials. - Decision-Making & Problem Solving:
Make field decisions regarding routing, system adjustments, and component selection, adapting to site conditions with practical solutions. - Safety Compliance:
Follow OSHA standards and company safety procedures, use proper PPE, maintain a clean, organized work environment, report hazards, and participate in safety training.
