Transit Bus Operator

  • Fast onboarding process for CDL holders
  • Schedules selected by seniority date (twice per year)
  • Operate in a safety-first environment
  • This role requires flexibility in schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

As a Transit Bus Operator, you'll navigate the twists and turns of your prescribed route, picking up, transporting, and dropping off passengers on schedule while adhering to local, state, and federal laws and standards.

Your journey will be guided by superior customer service, making every passenger's trip a pleasant experience. Additionally, you may have the opportunity to steer our seasonal operator training efforts, sharing your expertise and fostering a culture of continuous learning.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Perform thorough, federally mandated pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety.
  • Practice safe defensive driving techniques, always staying alert to speed and external conditions.
  • Assist passengers, including those with disabilities, ensuring compliance with ADA standards and providing a welcoming experience.
  • Share route and schedule information to help riders reach their destinations with ease.
  • Operate transit equipment, including fare boxes, dispatch systems, and security cameras, with confidence and precision.
  • Communicate professionally with dispatch and passengers, addressing policy questions and ensuring smooth operations.
  • Stay informed by regularly checking employee communication channels for updates on policies and procedures.
  • Complete and submit all required paperwork, including accident and incident reports, with accuracy and timeliness.
