Job Summary

The position provides logistical support at Augusta University by moving surplus property from campus locations to the warehouse for processing, delivering requested surplus items to departments, and assisting warehouse staff with inventory, tagging, property disposal, and general warehouse maintenance.

Responsibilities
  • Process surplus pickup and delivery requests daily as scheduled or as requested.
  • Notate and sign all appropriate logistics documentation for transfers.
  • Ensure daily activity documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted to supervisor.
  • Operate all logistics and property vehicles and equipment safely and report any accidents or problems immediately.
  • Place all surplus and storage items in correct storage locations as indicated by Inventory Control.
  • Validate paperwork with Inventory Control staff to ensure accurate handling of property delivered to warehouse.
  • Assist Inventory Control staff with inventory, tagging, and warehouse activities as needed.
  • Show surplus property to departments and ensure they have adequate access to surplus storage areas.
  • Perform all other related duties and tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent from a recognized state or federal accrediting organization.
  • At least one year of experience in a related field.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and provide excellent customer service.
  • Physical capability to lift heavy furniture, climb stairs, drive, and read/write for scheduling and communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • General knowledge of moving techniques, asset management, and supply management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant computer software/databases.
  • Skills needed for warehouse operations, including forklift, pallet jack, and cart use.
  • Knowledge of materials management and logistics experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.
Compensation & Benefits

Shift: Days, Monday–Friday
Pay Band: 2
Salary Minimum: $15.77 per hour – $16.66 per hour, commensurate with qualifications within the defined range (generally minimum to midpoint).
Recruitment Period: 2/5/26 – Until Filled
Benefits for full‑time employees include health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, Teachers Retirement System (or Optional Retirement Plan), paid vacation, sick leave, and 13 paid holidays. Half‑time employees may be eligible for certain benefits. Employees may also qualify for the Tuition Assistance Program after 6 months of successful employment.

Conditions of Employment

All selected candidates must pass a background check before starting. Depending on duties, a credit check may be required for positions of trust or approved departmental purchase card usage. Candidates who drive an Augusta University vehicle must provide a motor vehicle report. Faculty hires may need proof of completed academic degrees and post‑secondary coursework, including evaluation for foreign credentials. All employees must uphold confidentiality, cybersecurity, and privacy policies.
