The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the candidate's area of expertise.
ResponsibilitiesDepartment Summary
The Department of Data Science is housed within the College of Science and Mathematics (CoSM) at Valdosta State University and comprises courses in mathematics, physics, and astronomy along with data science courses. This part‑time faculty position is to teach lower‑division courses in mathematics, physics, or astronomy.
Typical Allocation of Duties
- Teaching – 100%:
Teaching
- Master's degree in the appropriate field
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative setting
- A record of mentoring of students
- Familiarity with online learning platforms such as D2L (or similar LMS) and Pearson My Lab
Commensurate with experience.
