Special Education Teacher - Valdosta, Georgia

This contract position is based in a supportive K-12 setting near Valdosta, GA, and offers a full-time Monday through Friday schedule. Youll facilitate effective communication, provide essential access for deaf and hard-of-hearing students, and work closely with teachers both general education and special education professionals to help every learner thrive.

• EIPA score of 3.5 or higher is required
• Valid Educational Interpreter License issued by the GaPSC
• Previous experience interpreting for school-aged children or within educational settings
• Familiarity with K-12 classroom environments and the needs of diverse learners
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
• Dedication to fostering inclusive and accessible learning outcomes

• Deliver in-person sign language interpretation for students across general and special education classrooms
• Support student engagement and understanding through clear and accurate interpretation of classroom instruction, discussions, and school events
• Collaborate with educators, specialists, and support staff to ensure seamless communication and integration of services
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all school interactions
• Participate in meetings, IEPs, and other events as needed to support the educational team
• Adapt interpretation styles to suit individual student needs and classroom settings
