Position: Student Affairs Coordinator (Tutoring & Supplemental Instruction Coordinator)

Student Affairs/Student Life Coordinator

Coordinate and oversee a variety of student affairs/student life programs and services in order to improve the quality of student life and improve student retention.

Typical Allocation of Duties:

  • Deliver Programs and Services for Students - 40%
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and supervision of both individuals and student organizations on issues related to academic achievement, student development, leadership, conflict resolution, community building, and collaboration with other students and student groups on campus.
  • Promote and develop partnerships - 20%
  • Develop and maintain initiative-based partnerships with campus partners and student organizations that address assessed needs and further the goals and vision of student affairs.
  • Enforce policies and procedures - 10%
  • Enforce university and system policies and procedures. Respond to issues and resolve problems.
  • Manage reports, records, and budgets - 10%
  • Maintain program files and records. Prepare a variety of regular and special report. Manage programming budgets.

Supervisor Expectations:

  • Tutoring & Supplemental Instruction Operations
  • Coordinate the daily operations of tutoring and supplemental instruction initiatives designed to support student learning, persistence, and academic success.
  • Student Staff Supervision & Development
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and develop tutors, supplemental instruction leaders, and other student staff with an emphasis on professionalism, accountability, and student support.
  • Academic Support Collaboration & Student Success Initiatives
  • Collaborate with faculty, academic departments, and campus partners to align tutoring and supplemental instruction services with course demands and student success priorities.
  • Assessment, Outreach & Resource Management
  • Track, analyze, and report tutoring usage, satisfaction, engagement, and learning outcomes to assess program effectiveness and support continuous improvement efforts. Promote awareness of tutoring and supplemental instruction services through outreach, marketing, campus events, and student engagement initiatives.
  • Professionalism & Institutional Engagement
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with students, faculty, staff, vendors, and campus partners while maintaining responsiveness and student-centered support. Adhere to university policies, ethical standards, confidentiality expectations, and professional conduct requirements in all interactions. Participate in meetings, trainings, professional development opportunities, and departmental assessment and planning activities related to student success and retention efforts.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and one (1) years of related work experience.

Proposed Salary: $23.50 /hr. ($48,880 annual)
