Medical Technologist, PM Lab Technical

Location: Main Campus

Department: PM Lab

Schedule: Full Time, 7 on/7 off, 02:30‑01:00 am Mon‑Fri, 01:00‑01:00 am Weekend

Responsible for quality performance and reporting of analyses of technical procedures for the benefit of optimal patient care within the limits of laboratory policy and procedures according to FDA, JCAHO, CAP, STATE, AABB, OSHA regulations.

Perform analytical procedures and quality assurance activities in a modern hospital laboratory.

Interpret data and provide patient‑specific lab support, including phlebotomy and point‑of‑care testing for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients.

Adhere to all applicable safety and regulatory standards, including biohazard, radiation, and chemical safety protocols.

• Qualified as a medical technologist under CLIA‑88 standards and Georgia Clinical Laboratory Licensure Law.
• Registered with a recognized medical technologist certifying agency such as ASCP, AMT, HHS/HEW, or AAB.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills in laboratory testing and patient care, including phlebotomy and point‑of‑care testing.
• Ability to assess and interpret patient data and recognize age‑specific needs.
• Normal color vision and ability to interpret diagnostic stains and color‑dependent tests.

Modern hospital laboratory environment. Light lifting not exceeding 25 lb, walking, sitting, standing, stooping or bending. Use of computer and laboratory equipment. Exposure to blood and body fluids with appropriate PPE (eye protection, face shields, lab coats, gloves).
