ScheduleFull Time, 8hr Day Shift
Position Summary- Designs, organizes, implements, and evaluates educational programs (orientations, continuing education, and in‑services) that facilitate professional growth, skill development, competency, and attainment of standards of care for employees.
- Programs are developed, implemented, and evaluated using adult education principles.
- Clinical programs are developed using nursing theory, nursing clinical expertise, standards of practice, and adult education principles.
- Serves as resource for staff nurses and other healthcare team members working in assigned service areas.
- Assists with promoting competency level of staff in assigned service areas by providing service‑specific education.
- Provides individual instruction to staff as needed in assigned service areas.
- Provides education related to new/revised policies or procedures.
- Evaluates effectiveness of current standards, policies, procedures, and clinical pathways and ensures compliance with all regulatory/accrediting standards.
- Current RN license in the State of Georgia.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing with a minimum of 3 years experience in area of specialty required.
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, or STABLE certifications (or ability to obtain) as appropriate to assigned units.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and teaching experience, preferably in adult education and healthcare settings.
- Flexible in work schedule, assignments, and workloads.
- Ability to prioritize and utilize problem‑solving techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to assess learning needs of healthcare personnel.
- Ability to conduct educational programs for a wide range of healthcare personnel.
- Ability to plan educational programs based on objectives and evaluate effectiveness.
Works primarily in a hospital setting, in clinical/patient care areas on various shifts and weekends with the flexibility required to meet the educational needs of staff. Requires considerable walking, standing, stooping, bending, lifting occasionally in excess of fifty pounds. Ability to assess, plan, and make recommended decisions in a complex environment.
