Provide Athletic Training Outreach Services for Secondary Schools and Universities in Area Position Responsibilities
- Care for injuries using therapeutic modalities and rehabilitation techniques.
- Evaluate readiness to return to daily activities, and coordinate clearances when necessary.
- Provide athletic training outreach and medical care to assigned location.
- Responsible for athletic training special event coverage when scheduled.
- Maintain a line of communication with the team physician(s) regarding athletic health care and recommended treatment/rehabilitation for all athletic injuries.
- Maintain an effective and efficient athletic training room.
- Maintain communication with parents on the care & treatment of their student-athlete.
- File all necessary reports associated with athletic injuries and/or incidents.
- Maintain a daily treatment log.
- Oversee the ordering of supplies and equipment pertaining to the athletic training room and maintain an up-to-date inventory.
- Create a safe playing environment by monitoring and controlling environmental risks.
- Preferred: 2 years’ experience as a certified athletic trainer.
- Required:
Degree in athletic training/sports medicine from CAATE approved institution. - Preferred:
Master’s Degree in related field.
- Valid Driver’s License, satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR) and proof of insurance required for position on-boarding.
- Annual MVR may be required per policy and procedure; background reports may be ran as needed throughout the course of employment.
- Must be able to work independently and have working knowledge of HIPAA requirements.
- Knowledge of the Athena Net and medical specialty/terminology.
- Current state license in Athletic Training.
- This position may require irregular work hours.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- This position may require travel to and from satellite clinics as assigned. Please note, if assigned for travel, this position will require a valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record upon hire (MVR will be screened on an annual basis).
