The Territory Account Specialist (TAS) is a critical role in our customer model to advance the company’s aspiration to be a Bio Pharma that delivers impactful engagement with Health Care Providers (HCPs), driving adoption of medicines for appropriate patients. The TAS drives demand for BMS medicines within their portfolio for appropriate patients, engages HCPs with a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx) through scientific dialogue aligned with labeling, and leverages CE^3 and new working methods.
The TAS builds professional credibility with regional thought leaders (RTLs) and community-based physicians/HCPs in private practice, medical groups, and other patient-care stakeholders as the primary contact. The TAS collaborates with other BMS functions to deliver a higher Cx, prioritizes safe and appropriate use of BMS products, and focuses on business results and BMS values. The role is field-based and anticipated to spend 100% of time in the field with external customers.
- Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
- Creates demand by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for product use in appropriate patients.
- Maintains/grows a high level of scientific expertise in assigned products and therapeutic areas.
- Prepares and implements territory and account plans.
- Uses CE^3 (when implemented) to derive insights and inform call plans; provides feedback to leadership for continuous improvement.
- Demonstrates scientific expertise using approved resources and publications to present information to HCPs with medical accuracy.
- Conducts in-office presentations and discusses product-related science consistent with labeling.
- Organizes external speaker programs and coordinates scheduling and logistics.
- Maintains working expertise on emerging data for approved indications.
- Engages real-time medical support through Medical on Call for unsolicited questions and complex inquiries.
- Collaborates with other field teams to ensure the best Customer Experience for HCPs.
- Gathers and shares insights internally to improve service to customers.
- Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies governing conduct.
- Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing.
- Ability to communicate scientific data accurately to help physicians serve patients.
- Proven credibility with key customers and a customer-centric approach to create a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx).
- Oncology experience is preferred.
- Strong account management, selling competencies, and a track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with a positive, collaborative mindset.
- Strong selling and promotional skills with a track record of performance.
- Customer/commercial mindset; ability to drive business results.
- Experience engaging with customers across the patient care journey and tailoring engagement accordingly.
- Resourcefulness and ability to connect with customers.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey science clearly to HCPs; strong learning mindset and commitment to staying current with data.
- Ability to analyze prescribing patterns, market trends, and HCP preferences to drive data-driven insights and dynamic call planning.
